Puzzlewood is an enchanting, 14-acre ancient woodland in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England, renowned for its moss-covered rocks, secret caves, and twisted tree roots. Known as a "fairy tale" forest, it features over a mile of meandering pathways, often used as a filming location for fantasy TV and films like Star Wars and Merlin.

Unique Scenery: The landscape, known as "scowles," is dotted with deep, rocky ravines and ancient trees, creating a unique temperate rainforest environment.
Filming Location: Puzzlewood has been featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Doctor Who, Merlin, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and The Secret Garden.
Activities: The site is popular for walking, photography, and exploring, featuring a willow maze, outdoor playground, and picnic areas.

Best Time to Visit: The woodlands are exceptionally beautiful in spring when wild garlic covers the forest floor.

Puzzlewood is believed to have inspired J.R.R. Tolkien’s descriptions of Middle-earth, with its enchanting, maze-like atmosphere.
